About Jane Hamlin
Jane grew up the daughter of a boat designer in coastal Maine. Her passion for horses and her determination to to be a rider led her from a hunter, jumper beginning to Pony Club where she discovered the joy of eventing. She achieved her Pony Club “A” rating which opened the door to eventing outside of the very small world of horses in southern Maine.
Jane moved to Vermont after finishing college with honors to continue her career with horses. She worked for Denny Emerson, the actor Charles Bronson and Huntington Farm all of which contributed to her understanding of all types of horses. While at Charles Bronson’s farm she met and worked with Jane Savoie which ended up being one of the major influences in her career. Jane Savoie, a world class dressage rider, teacher, coach and writer became a life long friend. She helped Jane bring along a series of different and sometimes difficult horses and gave her the base to her systematic dressage training program she uses today.
In addition to a busy business of riding and teaching Jane is a much sought after FEI international 5* eventing judge and a USEF national dressage and eventing judge. She was honored to be a member of the ground jury at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics held in 2021.
